Migration leaves things unfinished. The focus leaves, the concentration is broken, the train of thought gets shunted to the side.
Should I welcome the break?
Time's gift is the chance to stand back; to look, to find the centre, to find the edges, to stop before it overwhelms the page.

ReplyDeleteThere is a sense in which that is true of migration. However, it also represents a break from systems that no longer work and a new (perhaps unknown at the present) focus.
